What is Retrospective?

Quick Definition

A team meeting held at the end of a sprint or project to reflect on what went well, what didn't, and what to improve for next time.

How it works

Retrospectives are the engine of continuous improvement in agile teams. The classic format asks three questions: What went well? What didn't go well? What should we change? The output is a list of actionable improvements for the next iteration.

Retrospective in practice

After a 2-week sprint, the team spends 45 minutes reflecting. They agree to try pair programming on complex tasks (what went well: solo tasks shipped fast, what didn't: complex tasks had bugs).
